For over 20 years H & B Mining have been supplying their ‘Easy Maintenance’ conveyor products to the iron-ore industry of Western Australia. H & B conveyor skirts and drop down idlers have been regarded as standard design throughout the Pilbara: saving millions of dollars in reduced shut down time whilst enhancing the overall productivity of the conveyor systems.

It was only a matter of time before the Australian coal industry would embrace the H & B way. That time is NOW.

BHP Coal consulted H & B Mining about spillage and maintenance issues at their South Walker Creek mine, CV-1096 tail end transfer.

H & B had the solution: EMS Conveyor Skirts and Drop Down Idlers. Easy maintenance conveyor skirts combined with drop down idlers guarantee a consistent belt line and provide for simple, safe and speedy skirt liner adjustment and roller change out.

Following consultation, BHP engaged H & B Mining to design the tail end transfer upgrade incorporating the EMS skirts and drop down idlers. Following installation, material spillage was reduced down to an absolute minimum at the coal mine tail end transfer.

Following the success of the H & B install at South Walker Creek, BHP Coal plan to utilise the easy maintenance conveyor products on future conveyor transfer upgrades.
